Senior Software Engineer - Belfast (Hybrid)

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum

Necessary Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

• 5+ years' commercial software engineering experience
• Strong experience with one or more modern programming languages such as C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
• Experience developing scalable web applications and APIs
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture and best practices
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to technical decision-making

Desirable:

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• Microservices architecture
• DevOps practices
• Experience with React, Angular or other modern front-end frameworks

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be based in Belfast or able to commute to the Belfast office
• Must have full Right to Work in the UK/Northern Ireland
• No visa sponsorship is available for this position

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
• Develop secure, scalable and maintainable applications
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA and DevOps teams
• Participate in code reviews and champion engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Drive continuous improvement across development processes
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation and delivery
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate
