Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you lead electrical infrastructure across the Trust’s estate, ensuring safe, resilient and compliant operation of critical assets. You provide technical authority and governance, shaping standards and risk management for HV/LV networks. You will work to improve safety, performance and value for money through asset lifecycle planning and investment support.

This position sits within Essentia’s estate and infrastructure delivery group, partnering with cross‑functional teams to protect patients and staff. A clear standout is your ability to communicate risk and influence stakeholders with care, ambition and inclusion.

• Provide professional leadership and technical authority for electrical infrastructure across the Trust’s estate
• Oversee technical standards, statutory compliance, risk management and resilience of electrical assets and systems
• Lead estate assurance and compliance activities
• Support asset lifecycle planning and infrastructure investment decisions
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, resilience, performance and value for money

• Relevant professional qualifications; ideally includes an electrical engineering degree
• Professional membership or Chartered Engineer status
• Authorised Person duties for HV and LV
• Strong knowledge of healthcare engineering standards, including Health Technical Memoranda
• Experience managing complex electrical infrastructure in large, operationally critical environments
