Federal Government Contract | 12 Month Initial Term | Hybrid Working

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join a high-performing Federal Government team delivering critical digital services and technology solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional with strong Java development expertise who can provide technical leadership while contributing to the design, development and support of scalable enterprise applications.

This role is suited to someone who thrives in an Agile environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges and is passionate about delivering user-centric outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Design, develop and maintain high-performance, scalable enterprise applications.
\n
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineering teams.
\n
• Develop robust and secure solutions aligned to business and strategic objectives.
\n
• Contribute to Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n
• Support application deployment, maintenance and ongoing enhancements.
\n
• Drive quality outcomes through automated testing and best practice engineering standards.
\n
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver user-focused services.
\n
• Assist with technology adoption, innovation and continuous improvement activities.
\n
• Contribute to solution architecture and technical decision-making.
\n

About You\n

You are a highly capable Senior Developer with a strong track record of delivering enterprise software solutions. You can balance strategic thinking with hands-on development and are comfortable working in evolving environments.

Essential Technical Skills & Experience\n

• Extensive experience developing, implementing and supporting high-performance, scalable Spring Boot or J2EE applications on Linux platforms.

• Strong commercial experience with:\n
  \n
  • Java
  \n
  • Spring Boot 3 / Spring 6
  \n
  • REST and SOAP Web Services
  \n
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  \n
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
  \n
  • Thymeleaf and Bootstrap
  \n
  • Maven
  \n
  • IntelliJ IDEA or similar IDE
  \n
  • GitHub or equivalent source control tools
  \n
\n
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices.
\n
• Strong knowledge of unit testing using JUnit, TestNG or similar tools.
\n
• Experience working within Agile and Lean delivery environments.
\n

Security Requirements\n

• Australian Citizens only.
\n
• Must hold a Baseline Security Clearance.
\n
