Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-impact data initiative, driving the implementation of data management solutions and enterprise-scale data platforms. This is a highly client-facing role, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while delivering end-to-end solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Databricks and Unity Catalog, along with strong experience in building and optimizing modern data pipelines.
Rate Range: $70-86/hr on W2. Responsibilities Lead the implementation of data management MVPs across the enterprise Design, build, and optimize data engineering pipelines Work extensively with Databricks and Unity Catalog for data governance and management Optimize performance across Databricks and Kafka-based data pipelines Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions Drive initiatives related to data governance, metadata, data quality, and access management (UAM) Support development and visualization efforts using tools like Power BI (as needed) Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of data platforms Required Qualifications Core Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with Databricks Experience with Unity Catalog for data governance Advanced experience building data pipelines and data engineering solutions Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) Strong knowledge of Kafka and data pipeline performance optimization Data Management & Governance Experience or strong interest in data governance and data management Exposure to metadata management, data quality rules, and access management (UAM) Familiarity with GenAI-driven data use cases is a plus Additional Skills Experience with Power BI (preferred) Strong understanding of scalable data architectures Industry Experience Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred Soft Skills Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Proactive mindset with strong ownership and execution capabilities Work Requirements Ideally based in Houston, TX and available onsite 4–5 days per week Open to candidates willing to travel onsite twice per month Benefits Medical, dental, 401(k), direct deposit and commuter benefits for hourly employees and freelancers #J-18808-Ljbffr
