Senior Commercial Manager

Overview

As a Senior Cost Consultant at Arcadis, you will lead the cost management across rail projects, including HS2, helping clients achieve cost, quality and value targets. You will coach and develop the rail cost team, deliver accurate project costings and budgets, and provide strategic advice to improve project performance. Your role shapes commercial outcomes across the full lifecycle while building strong client relationships and driving innovation in cost management.

• Lead and develop the rail cost management team to enhance service delivery
• Create project costings and budgets for rail schemes and manage finances to meet targets
• Oversee cost management assignments ensuring delivery standards meet client expectations
• Understand client objectives within rail, focusing on cost management outcomes
• Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with cost control policies
• Ensure contract compliance related to project delivery parameters and cost management
• Analyse complex cost data and provide actionable recommendations for decision-making
• Support development of cost and commercial management systems tailored to rail projects
• Drive innovation in cost management to improve services and team impact
• Build and maintain senior client and stakeholder relationships for satisfaction and opportunities

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline
• Chartered status or working towards a recognised professional qualification
• Extensive experience delivering cost and commercial management on major rail or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of the full project lifecycle from business case to completion
• Experience in complex stakeholder environments, ideally including HS2 and other major rail programmes
• Proven leadership, communication and client management skills
• CSCS card holder or able to obtain one
