Overview
Senior Business Analysts understand the business and user goals of a project and provide clear requirements for the development and testing team. Working with key stakeholders, Senior Business Analysts clarify and communicate business needs, contribute to the definition and design of solutions, and ensure the alignment of business solutions and business needs. Senior Business Analysts perform activities including business process analysis, needs assessments and solution definition throughout the systems development lifecycle and help develop processes and methodologies to manage requirements for all stakeholders.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will gather and document product requirements, work in a variety of systems environments, lead workshops, and communicate in an empathetic, positive and friendly manner to clarify business needs and provide customer service. You will work with contractors, vendors and multiple processes and methodologies to manage requirements for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Facilitate analysis, classification and documentation of requirements
- Propose an appropriate document-set for a project
- Publish, distribute and facilitate sign-off of requirements documentation
- Manage changes to the requirements baseline
- Support impact analysis on changes to requirement(s) through the project lifecycle
- Gather, clarify and validate requirements
- Act as an interpreter who facilitates communication between clients and internal teams
- Anticipate, quantify and resolve problems and issues with requirements
- Use data and process modeling techniques to identify and clarify requirements
- Communicate with clients and internal teams to clarify and validate requirements
- Use data and process modeling tools
- Demonstrate knowledge of testing strategies, plans and execution
- Participate actively in the development of testing strategies and plans
- Design user acceptance testing plans
- Monitor user acceptance testing and responses to problems
- Understand IT and project management concepts
- Use desktop productivity applications at a superior level
- Be aware of the societal impact of information and information technology
- Understand information security and confidentiality guidelines
Requirements
- 5-10 years experience as a Business Analyst in software or interactive web development initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Applies creative thinking and problem solving to clarifying requirements-related issues
- Demonstrated experience producing technology project artifacts including use cases, requirements documents, design functional specifications, test plans and test cases, process flows
- Demonstrated experience in technology solution management, including usability/GUI design, web application development methodologies, object-oriented development approaches
- Working knowledge of third-party solution providers
- Defining and documenting design to requirements trade-offs
- Broad knowledge of programs, projects and knowledge management processes and tool sets
- Knowledge of user-centered content development, interface design, information architecture, digital branding and marketing communications
- Demonstrated experience in communications management, including ability to communicate with a variety of audiences (client and internal team)
- Consensus building, team building and problem solving
- Written and oral communications, including presentations to senior level executives
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams throughout implementation to ensure integrity to requirements
- Organizing and facilitating meetings with business users for requirements gathering
- MBA desired but not required
