Senior Back-End (Node js)

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Node.js Back End Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina. Our client is a global technology company specializing in self-service payment solutions and digital customer engagement for the retail petroleum industry.

You'll be responsible for the design, development, and ownership of scalable, secure, and high‑quality back‑end web services that support business‑critical applications. This role plays a key part in shaping technical direction, establishing development standards, and mentoring less experienced engineers while delivering business‑critical functionality.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in commercial software development, with a strong specialization in full‑stack application development.
• Strong experience developing and supporting production systems using Node.js.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization.
• Expertise in deploying and operating applications in Kubernetes environments, including creating and configuring application infrastructure.
• Experience building and supporting solutions on AWS, including knowledge of services such as SQS, SES, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of unit testing and test‑driven development practices.
• In-depth understanding of web‑application architecture, including the ability to design, build, and evolve systems to meet current standards and business roadmaps.
• Knowledge of source control systems and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, QA, product management, and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support less‑experienced engineers through guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Sound product and user‑experience judgment, including awareness of customer impact, tradeoffs, and pragmatic decision‑making.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain back‑end services, APIs, and supporting systems.
• Architect and evolve back‑end application and system designs to align with current standards, scalability, reliability, and long‑term product roadmaps.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, QA, product management, and other stakeholders to define interfaces, support end‑to‑end workflows, and deliver well‑rounded solutions.
• Provde technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions, and best practices.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical growth.
• Actively participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management, with or without accommodation.

Relationships:

• Report directly to the Manager of Software Engineering.
• Participate in daily interaction with members of the on-site software development team, remote software development teams, the software QA team, project management, and other related departments
