ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As Senior Tax Analyst – Brazil, you will run the end-to-end execution of tax compliance for SITA’s Brazilian entities and be the internal owner of the activities progressively internalized from our external provider. You will be accountable for filings that are delivered on time, correctly calculated and fully evidenced.
Reporting to the Head of VAT Compliance & Tax Accounting, you will be part of the global VAT Compliance & Tax Accounting team. You will work hand in hand with the local accounting team, which remains responsible for the statutory books, and with the LATAM tax team, which remains responsible for technical positions, tax advice and tax planning. Your mandate is execution and control: you turn technical positions into compliant, repeatable and auditable filings.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own the Brazilian tax compliance calendar end to end and guarantee that every federal, state and municipal deadline is met for all entities in scope.
- Review and validate the calculation of ICMS, ICMS-ST, DIFAL, IPI, PIS/COFINS, ISS, FUST and FUNTTEL, and of withheld taxes (IRRF, INSS, PIS, COFINS, CSLL, ISS), before payment and submission.
- Review and progressively internalize the ancillary obligations currently outsourced (GIA, SPED Fiscal, EFD Contribuições, DCTF, DIRF, NFTS ISS, Convênio 115 and Convênio CAT 79) and secure their transmission.
- Validate the tax treatment applied to transactions (CFOP, CST, NCM, cClassTrib, rates, origin and destination states) before and after issuance of tax documents and drive the correction of anomalies at source.
- Deliver the monthly reconciliations between the ERP, the ledger and the tax returns, and clear open items and tax credit balances (including PERDCOMP follow-up).
- Monitor federal, state and municipal portals, triage incoming notifications and prepare the factual response file, escalating technical positions to the LATAM tax team.
- Provide accurate and timely tax input data to the local accounting team for the statutory books and to the external provider for IRPJ/CSLL, ECD and ECF.
- Lead the internalization roadmap: document processes, build working instructions and transfer activities from the external provider without service disruption.
- Prepare SITA Brazil’s compliance readiness for the indirect tax reform (IBS/CBS), translating requirements into system, master data and process changes.
- Act as day-to-day reference and quality reviewer for the Tax Analyst (Grade 4) and as first back-up on all critical filings.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Brazilian tax compliance, gained in a multinational company, a shared services environment and/or a tax compliance practice.
- Hands-on experience preparing and submitting Brazilian indirect tax returns and ancillary obligations – not only reviewing a provider’s output.
- Solid working knowledge of ICMS, ISS, PIS/COFINS and IPI, including telecom-specific obligations, and awareness of the IBS/CBS reform timeline.
- Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law or a related field.
- Practical experience with an ERP used for Brazilian tax determination (Protheus/TOTVS or equivalent), SPED/PVA and the state and municipal portals.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with genuine attention to detail and evidence discipline.
- Ability to stand up to pressure, prioritise and deliver against statutory deadlines across several entities.
- Good communication skills, able to engage with central teams, external providers and tax authorities.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (B2 or above) in addition to Portuguese.
- Autonomy, accountability and a collaborative mindset in a matrix organisation.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience transitioning activities from an outsourced provider to an in-house team.
- Exposure to ERP transformation or tax technology / e-invoicing projects.
- Working knowledge of Spanish for interaction across the LATAM region.
