Job Description

Job Title: SBLC/Guarantees team - Analyst II

Duration: 1 year (Possibility of extension/Conversion)

Location: Montreal (preferred), Toronto (2nd preference) - First 3 months, 5 days onsite. Once trained, 3 days a week

***Overtime occasional, sometimes working on Canadian Holidays as the team supports US clients***

Required Degree/Level of Education: Post-secondary education

Certifications Required: Trade finance certs- CSDG would be top cert, CSDC – 2nd preferred

Required Years of Overall Experience: 3 to 5 years would be ideal

  • Good knowledge of AML
  • If they spoke Spanish- would be an asset
  • Bilingual would be ideal as well

Summary Of The Role:

Drafting, issuing, advising and amending different types of SBLC/Guarantees and processing any other requests or correspondence regarding SBLC/ Guarantees issued or advised

  • Must-Have Skills:Trade Finance exp- Standby LC and Bank Guarantee’s
  • AML knowledge

Soft Skills:

1.) Strong communication skills – very important for this role. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Job AccountabilitiesThis is a hybrid role where the chosen individual will both work in administrative tasks and will also issue and advise new transactions and amendments as per the necessity of the team
  • Reviewing text of guarantees requested by clients and providing comments either directly to clients or relationship managers
  • Drafting, issuing, advising and amending different types of SBLC/Guarantees and processing any other requests or correspondence regarding SBLC/ Guarantees issued or advised
  • Releasing transactions as per volumes and requirements of the team
  • Delivering timely and efficient services as per Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Prioritize, manage and monitor day to day operations of the team and workflow and distribute daily requests among officers and ensure maximum efficiency
  • Participate in monthly reporting and reconciliation tasks
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to minimize risk
  • Provide technical advice to clients/partners
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Demonstrate strong process management skills
  • Ensure consistency & accuracy of the process
  • Identify potential risks and operational gaps; recommend and document resolutions
  • Ensures due diligence is completed as part of all transactions, as per terms of the trade finance AML procedures
  • Execute on ad-hoc requests
  • Requires to be available during some Canadian Statutory Holidays on rotational basis in order to cover our multiple province holidays, US & UK business
  • This position requires minimum of 18 months commitment to the role
  • Hybrid role currently minimum 3 days per week in the office following succesful completion of initial training period, which will take place full time at the office.
