Senior AI/ML Engineer (LLM + Data Engineering)

We're hiring: Senior AI/ML Engineer (LLM + Data Engineering) — Vharta.ai Vharta.ai is an early-stage startup, currently in MVP stage and gearing up for a private preview. We're looking for an experienced software professional who's equally comfortable working hands-on with open-source language models and building the data pipelines that feed them. What you'll do Work with open-source LLMs, SLMs, and DSLMs (Domain-Specific Language Models) — fine-tuning, evaluating, and deploying models for production use Design and maintain data pipelines and orchestration using Airflow, Dagster, and dbt Own workflows end to end, from raw data to model-ready datasets to deployed inference Help shape the AI/data architecture of an early-stage product as a foundational engineering hire What we're looking for Strong software engineering background with production experience Hands-on work with open-source language models (e.g.

Llama, Mistral, Gemma, Phi) Experience building and adapting domain-specific language models for focused use cases Experience with data orchestration and transformation tooling — Airflow, Dagster, dbt Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment and owning problems independently Nice to have Experience with model fine-tuning, RAG, or evaluation frameworks Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration experience Cloud and MLOps experience (deployment, monitoring, scaling) If this sounds like you (or someone you know), DM me or apply here.
