We are looking for a Senior Accounting Auditor

MAIN TASKS

• Ensure a strong understanding of the accounting control framework across assigned regions and entities.
• Ensure the Group Accounting Control Plan and other control plans are properly implemented, monitored, and maintained.
• Perform oversight reviews of accounting control set-ups and identify, assess, and report control deficiencies.
• Ensure Regional Finance teams comply with control requirements, Group Accounting Control Plan requirements, and Infinity Platform procedures.
• Perform LOD2 controls over Head Office central teams.
• Build strong, transparent, and efficient relationships with regional, entity, and process stakeholders.
• Obtain, analyze, and review accounting certifications from assigned regions and entities.
• Identify and report key accounting issues and ensure appropriate remediation action plans are defined and monitored.
• Monitor recommendations from General Inspection, Internal Audit, regulators, and external auditors and follow up on remediation actions.
• Monitor Finance-related operational risk incidents, assess their impact on the control framework, and follow up on remediation plans and timelines.
• Organize and lead regular Internal Control Committee meetings with assigned regions and entities to review accounting control issues.
• Contribute to the Accounting and Financial Risk Committee for allocated regions and transversal topics.

🧩 YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

• Experience in Finance, Accounting Control, or Audit, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong expertise in accounting principles, practices, and control frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Good understanding of internal control frameworks and risk management.
• Fluency in English - written and spoken (B2+).

Hybrid position based in Lisbon (50% on office). First 4 - 6 months on-site.
