About The Role
This role is responsible for leading key financial close activities, ensuring accurate and compliant accounting processes under US GAAP and Argentina GAAP. The position partners cross-functionally to manage complex accounting matters, support audits and SEC/SOX compliance, and drive process improvements through automation. Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to independently own critical accounting processes while mentoring junior team members.
What You’ll Do
- Directly contribute to the company's financial integrity by executing high-impact financial close processes, taking a lead role in month-end, quarter-end, and annual close activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and execute complex journal entries, analyze results and fluctuations, and perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP and Argentina GAAP.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing informal guidance, peer support, and technical expertise to junior accounting staff on journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Manage the execution of end-to-end accounting processes for assigned areas; independently identifying and resolving complex issues with limited assistance.
- Research, analyze, and apply appropriate accounting treatments to corporate accounting matters, vendor contracts, new transactions, and other relevant areas.
- Support quarterly and annual SEC filings and actively maintain compliance with SOX requirements.
- Assist in external and internal audits by preparing complex schedules, providing necessary documentation, and responding to auditor and SOX compliance requests effectively.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and enhance overall efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business decision-making through accurate data preparation and insightful analysis, fostering teamwork and transparency.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting (graduated or expected to graduate within the next year).
- 5+ years of accounting experience with evidence of assuming roles of greater responsibility.
- Proven track record of handling complex accounting tasks and taking ownership of assigned processes.
- Big 4 accounting experience preferred
- Advanced English proficiency is required
- Proficiency in MS Excel and excellent written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Argentine accounting standards, with the ability to explain complex accounting issues to non-finance stakeholders
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and consistent follow-through, including strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with teams in finance, operations, legal, and HR
Nice To Have
- Experience in financial services and/or technology industries.
- Ability to automate and simplify large datasets.
- Experience with ETL tools and other data transformation tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Snowflake, etc.).
- Experience with Accounting ERPs (Specifically Workday Financial).
- Ability to think critically and work independently, while also collaborating effectively within a broader team environment.
