Downey Osborne is delighted to be working with an independent accountancy practicethat is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join its growing team.

About You

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice


• Strong audit experience, ideally making up around 50-60% of your current role


• Experience across accounts and compliance


• Strong technical accounting knowledge


• The ability to manage your own workload and client portfolio


• Good communication and client relationship skills


• A commercial and practical approach to your work

Always

• Take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients


• Complete audit assignments from planning through to completion


• Prepare and review accounts and financial statements


• Work closely with the Partners and wider team


• Maintain strong relationships with clients

Often

• Prepare corporation tax returns and other compliance work


• Provide clients with accounting and financial advice


• Review work completed by more junior team members


• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines


• Identify opportunities to improve processes and client service

Occasionally

• Support with more complex or specialist client queries


• Assist with ad hoc projects and assignments


• Provide guidance and support to junior colleagues

Never

• Be restricted to one area of practice


• Be expected to make tea for the entire office.
