Working Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday (with weekend availability if required)

Working Hours: 08.00am to 17.00pm (42.5 hour week) with weekend overtime available

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Body Shop Manager, Spray Painter and Panel Beater to oversee the daily operations of our client’s body shop. You will work with a skilled team of Bodyshop technicians and administrative staff, ensuring the smooth running of the Bodyshop while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer service.

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the Bodyshop, including scheduling, task allocation, and productivity monitor.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the body shop team to achieve performance targets and quality standards.
  • Oversee vehicle repair processes, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on vehicle throughput, KPIs, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Oversee stock, parts ordering, and supplier negotiations to optimise costs and available.
  • Drive continuous improvement, implementing new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Prepare vehicles for spraying, including masking, sanding, and priming.
  • Mix and apply paints to match original manufacturer colours and finishes.
  • Carry out spray painting to a professional standard on panels, bodywork, and complete vehicles.
  • Ensure all refinishing work is completed efficiently and to high-quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain spray booths, equipment, and tools in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with preppers, polishers, and body repair technicians to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure vehicles meet both manufacturer and customer standards.
  • Assess damage and determine the appropriate repair or replacement method.
  • Remove, repair, and replace damaged body panels.
  • Use welding, filling, and straightening techniques to restore vehicles to their original condition.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer standards and within agreed time scales.
  • Work collaboratively with paint sprayers, MET technicians, and preppers to complete jobs efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Body Shop Manager, Spray Painter or Panel Beater within the automotive repair industry.
  • Strong technical background with recognised qualifications desire.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a multi-skilled team.
  • Experience with estimating systems and workshop management software.
  • Full EU driving licence required.
