Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our internal Finance team on a 6-month Fixed term role.

You will be responsible for the completion of all month-end tasks, preparing monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS), and assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Completing all month-end tasks for the Australian business, including preparing journals, GL reconciliations, investigation, and rectification of any discrepancies.
• Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial and management accounting information for the Australian business.
• Preparing monthly BAS in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assisting with the preparation of required working papers and documentation for auditors.
• Managing the fixed asset register and asset valuations.
• Supporting junior members of the Finance Team and sharing your skills and knowledge.
• Supporting Finance team with ad-hoc projects.
• Assisting with strategies for continuous improvement, managing financial risk, and incorporating changes to accounting standards and legislation.

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years of experience in a similar or public practice role.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ideally have experience with Xero.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Forward-thinker.
• Organised and strong time management skills.
• Positive mindset and highly motivated.
