Commercial Insurance Advisor (Client-Focused / Growth-Oriented)
About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a driven and relationship-focused Commercial Insurance Advisor to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll manage a significant book of business, support client retention, and play a key role in driving new revenue through strategic account growth and cross-selling opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Lead by example—champion company values while delivering exceptional client service and driving retention across a large or priority book of business
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by expanding existing client relationships and supporting cross-selling initiatives
- Contribute to annual organizational growth by continuously building and developing your client base
- Partner with Senior Advisors to ensure full accountability for client insurance programs, including identifying and addressing coverage gaps
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on risk and insurance solutions, with mentorship from senior leadership
- Build and maintain strong networks by actively participating in industry and community events with a focus on business development
- Develop long-term client relationships through consistent, high-quality service and proactive communication
- Lead client interactions including information gathering, ongoing communication, and relationship management with key stakeholders and decision-makers
- Prepare and support mid-year and renewal reviews in collaboration with Senior Advisors
- Manage the marketing process for your book of business and work closely with internal teams to deliver seamless service
- Participate in strategy, pre-renewal, renewal, and new business meetings
- Maintain direct relationships with insurers and support negotiations as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and industry standards
- Take on additional responsibilities as required
What You Bring
- Proven experience in commercial insurance (required)
- Level II license (required); advanced designations such as CIP, CRM, or CAIB are considered an asset
- Post-secondary education or equivalent industry training, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, policy wordings, and coverage across key industry sectors
- Solid business acumen paired with a natural sales mindset and consultative approach
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with a strong focus on client experience and service excellence
- High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with EPIC or similar broker management systems is an asset
