El Camino Academy (ECA) is a non-profit, interdenominational Christian school in Bogotá, Colombia, serving missionary and other Christian families from multiple countries. The school offers a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade program based on a United States curriculum taught entirely in English, with many students speaking English as a second or third language. ECA currently serves around 23 missions, 220 families, and 327 students from Colombia, North America, South America, Korea, and Europe.

The school is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Colombian Secretary of Education, and graduates earn both American and Colombian high school diplomas. ECA provides a multicultural, faith-based learning environment committed to academic excellence and character formation.


Role Description


The Secondary Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Bogotá, D.C., responsible for teaching science courses to middle and high school students. The teacher plans and delivers engaging, standards-based lessons in areas such as general science and physics, using a U.S. curriculum and English as the language of instruction. Daily responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, assessing student learning, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of grades and progress.

The role involves collaborating with colleagues, participating in staff meetings and professional development, and communicating regularly with families and guardians. The teacher models Christian values, supports the spiritual and academic growth of students, and contributes to a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.


Qualifications



  • Candidates should possess strong Science Education expertise, with the ability to teach secondary-level Science and Physics.

  • Candidates should be a Qualified Teacher with appropriate certification or licensure and experience in secondary education.

  • Candidates should demonstrate effective Communication skills, including clear instruction in English and professional interaction with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree or higher in Science Education or a related field, experience in international or multicultural schools, and alignment with ECA’s Christian mission and values are beneficial.

  • Additional beneficial skills include classroom management, curriculum planning, use of educational technology, and ability to support English
