Our client, a major multinational player and leading employer in the region, within the engineering components sector are seeking a Sales Operations Specialist to join their team in Limerick.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will support the organisation across multiple disciplines, ensuring the effective application of sales processes and customer management practices. The role will span pricing and profitability, compensation and rewards, sales force planning, and target setting.

The Role
As Sales Operations Specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two support specialists within the sales operations team. This role is ideally suited to an experienced sales or operations leader, or a commercially minded professional looking to progress their career in a dynamic environment.
A curiosity for uncovering insights within data and translating them into commercial solutions will be key to success in this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
Pricing Strategy, Profitability & Commercial Performance
- Lead pricing strategy, analysis, and governance to support commercial objectives and maximise profitability.
- Manage and develop the pricing team, ensuring activities are effectively planned and executed in a timely manner.
- Deliver against agreed profit targets (primary KPI).
- Provide high-quality analytical insights and recommendations to support decision-making and enhance overall business performance.
- Lead customer acquisition, retention, and lifecycle management strategies.
- Deliver on defined customer development targets (primary KPI).
- Oversee customer data governance, quality, and processes to enhance insight, engagement, and sustainable growth.
- Maintain clear and accurate customer segmentation.
Sales Performance, Planning & Business Intelligence
- Partner with sales leadership to develop customer segmentation models, contact strategies, and effective visit planning processes.
- Oversee sales performance reporting, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable insights.
- Monitor and manage company sales targets, ensuring robust planning frameworks are in place.
- Provide analytical support through the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of sales and customer data.
Sales Operations, Incentives & Territory Management
- Lead sales operations frameworks, including compensation structures, incentive schemes, and governance processes.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and compliance of sales compensation and incentive programmes.
- Optimise sales territories using analytics and geo-mapping tools to enhance productivity, market coverage, and service levels.
- Ensure operational processes are aligned with business efficiency, performance, and growth objectives.
The Skills and Experience Required
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret and deliver against strategic business objectives.
- Proven experience in Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Management, Business Support, or a senior leadership role, with a history of delivering measurable results- 3 years +.
- A highly results-driven approach, with strong accountability, urgency, and commitment to execution.
- A customer-centric mindset, with a practical understanding of customer engagement, including field interaction alongside sales teams.
- Knowledge of sales force effectiveness, productivity planning, segmentation, and sales process optimisation.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex data into practical solutions.
- Experience in sales compensation structures, incentive design, and performance management.
- Proficiency in ERP, CRM, and Business Intelligence tools, with a strong ability to leverage data for decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong data literacy and the ability to convert insights into actionable business improvements.
- The ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
- A collaborative approach, with proven experience working cross-functionally to deliver business outcomes.
- A degree in Business/Marketing or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
