CarelonRx Sales Director

This field‑based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands‑on engagement. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The CarelonRx Sales Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve or exceed total membership and sales goals of CarelonRx products within their assigned territory (New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and Georgia markets). This role will be focused on Commercial ASO growth for clients with 250 members and above. Growth will come from new medical and pharmacy clients and existing medical clients with carved out pharmacy.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for sales of large, complex accounts. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert with external constituents to properly convey, position, and message the CarelonRx solution to brokers and plan sponsors
  • Leads the pharmacy pricing and RFP execution processes
  • Leads prospecting activities for new business and proactively calls on brokers and consultants
  • Serves as a market intelligence leader to assist management with product, pricing and strategic initiatives to better leverage competitive position
  • Works with the implementation team to ensure seamless transition
  • Prepares sales pipeline, sales forecasts and other reports

Requirements

BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of PBM sales experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skill Set

  • Masters Degree
  • Prior experience with large and/or sophisticated employer benefits, pharmacy benefit sales, and experience using a CRM software platform
  • Prior experience working at a PBM selling integrated medical and pharmacy benefits.
  • Proven sales experience
  • Prior RFP experience
  • Experience in attending and participating in finalist meetings
  • Strong leadership/managerial skills and ability to motivate/coach other staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and well organized
  • Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, time management, and attention to detail skills

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $143,600 - $258,480.

Location(s): Maine, New York
