We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support a growing trucking business by identifying owner-operators and independent agents, reaching out through multiple channels, and generating qualified leads for the internal sales team.
This is a high-activity role for someone who thrives on consistent outreach, enjoys building relationships, and isn't afraid of cold prospecting. The ideal candidate is coachable, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and motivated by achieving results.
About the Role
Responsibilities
- Identify and research owner-operators and potential independent agents
- Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, text messages, and social media groups
- Qualify prospects and identify potential business opportunities
- Generate and nurture outbound leads for the internal sales team
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and prospect information in the CRM
- Follow up consistently with prospects until they are ready to speak with the sales team
- Build relationships with potential partners through professional communication
- Meet daily and weekly outreach and lead generation goals
- Keep prospect databases organized and up to date
- Collaborate closely with the internal sales team to ensure smooth lead handoffs
- Learn and follow proven outreach processes and sales playbooks
- Continuously improve outreach performance through coaching and feedback
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in outbound sales, lead generation, appointment setting, or SDR roles
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- Comfortable making cold calls and initiating conversations
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Coachable and open to feedback
- Strong cognitive and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable using CRM systems and sales technology
- Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent productivity
- Experience in the trucking or transportation industry is a plus, but not required
