Sales Account Manager

About the Role

Field Sales Consultant (12 month contract) – Jacaranda, a Wiley brand. Responsible for meeting team sales targets within an assigned sales territory, including renewable revenue targets, by planning, selling and promoting Jacaranda digital and print products and services. Conduct market research, report intelligence and provide feedback to Sales Management.

Responsibilities

Organisation & Planning

• Execute the sales plan to achieve budgeted objectives and profitability.
• Use SFDC and other tools to plan territory on a semester basis.
• Develop, implement and review a strategy to maximise sales.
• Plan and schedule calls in advance to maximise time spent at schools.
• Develop a follow‑up plan for all significant adoptions.
• Use company resources and communication methods to enhance the strategic sales plan.
• Ensure adequate planning and collaborative teamwork for large opportunities.

Product / Market Knowledge

• Understand curriculum and teaching/learning environment in schools.
• Monitor competitor products and market activity.
• Know Jacaranda’s digital and print products and present demos to customers.
• Use sales tools and systems for up‑to‑date product information.
• Recommend products based on customer needs and prior information.
• Negotiate terms of sales using available resources.

Solutions and Insight‑Based Selling

• Determine present and future needs of customers and propose suitable products.
• Secure sales by presenting product benefits and creating value‑packs.
• Overcome objections and secure implementations.
• Build long‑term business partnerships and promote Jacaranda as a quality supplier.

Communication and Reporting

• Operate from office/home office and use web‑based tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
• Provide tracking information as requested by sales management.
• Use SFDC reports to maintain accurate account information.
• Maintain communication with sales, publishing/editorial and marketing teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales with solution‑based selling preferred.
• Experience in the Educational Publishing and/or Education industries is an asset.
• Understanding of teaching and learning issues in the school education environment.
• Stamina to work in the field at schools (average 4 days per week).
• Availability for regular inter‑intra state travel.
• Computer literacy: intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet research.
