As a Rust Software Developer, you'll apply your technical expertise to solve complex challenges in support of national defense missions, working alongside a team of passionate technologists committed to delivering mission‑critical solutions with precision and innovation. Responsibilities Take ownership of complex engineering challenges by architecting new mission‑focused capabilities that improve performance, resilience, and operational speed.
Architect scalable systems using Kubernetes, autoscaling strategies (HPA/VPA, cluster autoscalers) to support horizontal scaling within seconds. Develop software within an Agile framework and DevSecOps infrastructure as part of a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. Implement CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Build Rust‑Python interoperability using PyO3 and create Python extensions in Rust. What You Have 3+ years of experience with software engineering using Rust. Experience designing architecture and containerized services with Kubernetes.
Experience with autoscaling strategies such as HPA/VPA, cluster autoscalers, and designing systems that scale horizontally within seconds. Experience developing software within an Agile framework and DevSecOps infrastructure as part of a CI/CD pipeline. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Experience with PyO3 for Rust‑Python interoperability and building Python extensions in Rust. Ability to effectively communicate, work independently and collaboratively on a cross‑functional team, and demonstrate initiative to complete complex tasks to achieve program goals in a fast‑paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5+ years of experience in software development, OR 7+ years of experience in software development in lieu of a degree. Nice If You Have Experience with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube, Clippy, cargo-deny, or cargo-audit. Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF). Ability to display a personal or professional GitHub profile demonstrating Rust projects. TS/SCI clearance.
Master’s degree. Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. Compensation Salary range: $86,800 to $198,000 (annualized USD).
