Job Description

We are working with an established multinational General Contractor to find an experienced Risk Manager to lead the Contracts Management team for their multibillion-dollar projects. The Risk Manager works closely with design, commercial, and construction teams to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks during the design and pre-construction phases. This is a key role supporting informed decision-making and ensuring the project remains on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the project risk management plan in accordance with the client's and JV partner’s requirements.
  • Facilitate risk identification, assessment, and mitigation meetings and discussions across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Implement risk policies, processes, tools, and reporting cycles across all working groups.
  • Maintain and update the risk register, tracking risk ownership, status, and mitigation progress.
  • Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, commercial, and estimating teams to integrate risk
  • considerations into cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Support value engineering and change management processes from a risk perspective.
  • Plan, facilitate, and execute Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analyses at key milestones (e.g., 0%, 30%, 50%, 70% design, Target Cost Validation).
  • Interpret QRA outputs and produce actionable insights for project leadership.
  • Ensure transparent audit trails for risk-related assumptions, mitigations, and decisions.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • You must have 10 - 15 years of experience in risk management for large-scale infrastructure or transit projects.
  • Demonstrated experience during progressive design or early design-build phases.
  • Proficiency with risk management software is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, RMP, or equivalent are considered an asset.
  • Collaborative approach with strong facilitation skills and the ability to challenge assumptions diplomatically.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to translate technical outputs into simple messages for decision-makers
