Revenue Recognition Manager โ Commercial Finance
Principle
Job Description
Revenue Recognition Manager โ Enterprise SaaS
We are recruiting an experienced Revenue Recognition Manager to join the EMEA finance team of a leading global enterprise software organisation.
This is a specialist role combining technical revenue accounting with commercial deal advisory.
You will act as a key Finance partner on complex, high-value software and SaaS transactions, working directly with Sales, Legal and Deal Desk to assess contracts, advise on deal structures and determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606 / US GAAP.
This is not a traditional financial accounting, FP&A or reporting position. We are looking for someone with hands-on ownership of revenue recognition decisions who can apply technical accounting expertise to real-world commercial scenarios and contribute from day one.
The Role
Supporting the UK & Ireland business, you will be involved in complex and non-standard enterprise customer transactions throughout the deal lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Act as a key Finance owner for Revenue Recognition matters relating to complex enterprise software transactions.
- Review and assess complex and non-standard SaaS and software contracts under ASC 606 / US GAAP.
- Partner with Sales, Legal and Deal Desk during contract drafting, negotiation and approval.
- Advise on commercial deal structures and their revenue recognition implications before contracts are executed.
- Assess Performance Obligations (POBs), transaction price, standalone selling price (SSP), variable consideration and contract modifications.
- Translate technical accounting requirements into clear, commercially workable recommendations for non-finance stakeholders.
- Identify revenue risks proactively and recommend alternative structures where required.
- Own revenue-related accounting judgements and support the approval of significant or non-standard transactions.
- Partner with senior stakeholders, including Sales Directors and VPs, in a fast-paced, quarter-end driven environment.
- Support improvements to deal-review processes, controls and commercial workflows.
What We're Looking For
This role requires considerably more than general exposure to revenue recognition. You should have substantial hands-on experience applying ASC 606 to complex commercial transactions and taking ownership of revenue-related accounting decisions.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong Revenue Recognition / Revenue Accounting experience within a SaaS, software or enterprise technology organisation.
- Deep practical knowledge of ASC 606 / US GAAP.
- Experience reviewing complex, high-value and non-standard software contracts.
- Proven experience owning or making revenue recognition accounting judgements, rather than simply supporting a Revenue team.
- Experience partnering directly with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk and Commercial Finance.
- Strong understanding of POBs, SSP, transaction-price allocation, contract modifications and multi-element arrangements.
- Experience reviewing deals proactively before contract signature, identifying accounting risks and influencing commercial structures.
- The confidence to challenge and influence senior commercial stakeholders while remaining focused on finding workable solutions.
- The ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
The Opportunity
This is an 11-month contract offering the opportunity to join a highly regarded global enterprise software organisation and work at the intersection of Revenue Recognition, Technical Accounting and Commercial Deal Advisory.
Youโll join an international EMEA finance team and take responsibility for supporting complex enterprise transactions across the UK & Ireland.
Location: Dublin 2
Working model: Hybrid โ 3 days in the office / 2 days from home
Contract: 11 months
If you're currently working in Revenue Recognition, Revenue Accounting, Technical Accounting or Commercial Revenue Finance within the technology sector and have genuine ownership of complex revenue decisions, we'd be interested in speaking with you.
