Respiratory Therapist Position Type: 1 Contractor - Onsite Location: Davenport, IA 52803 Department: Pulmonary Services Experience Required: Minimum 2 years Traveler Role: Yes Shift & Schedule Shift: 18:00-06:30 (Night Shift) Schedule: Monday-Friday Workload: 3 Days per week, 12 hours/day Total Hours: 36 hours per week The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders in accordance with physician orders, established clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements. This role involves assessment, treatment planning, equipment management, emergency response, and patient/family education. The therapist works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Care Planning Assess patients to determine appropriate type and frequency of respiratory treatments. Develop individualized plans of care based on diagnosis and clinical findings. Therapeutic Interventions Implement and monitor respiratory care plans, therapy modalities, and equipment.

Perform advanced respiratory treatments, including aerosol therapies, airway management, NIPPV/CPAP/BiPAP, and oxygen protocols. Respond to emergency and code situations as part of the resuscitation team. Monitoring & Documentation Monitor, record, and communicate changes in patient conditions.

Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust care based on patient response. Ensure accurate and timely charting in accordance with facility standards. Patient & Family Education Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatments, self-care, and available community support programs.
