About Your New Job

As a Resident Engineer,youwill:

  • Supervise civil and structural construction works across a range of major developments, ensuring adherence to design, specification, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate daily with employers, contractors, design teams, local authorities, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on construction progress, quality, programme milestones, and support technical and contractual matters during the build.
  • Oversee compliance with Health & Safety legislation, address construction issues, and provide practical engineering solutions to meet project objectives.
  • Maintain rigorous site records, review engineering proposals, and contribute engineering expertise across high-profile projects.

What Skills You Need

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, or Site Supervision role.
  • Track record in supervising civil infrastructure, public realm, roads, Active Travel, commercial, or building projects.
  • Experience with construction contract administration and strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation.
  • Current Safe Pass and full driving licence.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
  • Strong IT proficiency and familiarity with engineering software.
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership is advantageous.
