Research Specialist – Sanger Sequencing

Position: Research Specialist – Sanger Sequencing Location: Hyderabad Industry: Biotechnology Joining: Immediate Role Overview Our client’s Sanger Sequencing Department is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and experienced Research Specialist to manage and execute DNA sequencing workflows using the ABI 3730 Genetic Analyzer . The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in molecular biology techniques, sequencing workflows, troubleshooting, and high-throughput laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities Handle and manage DNA sequencing workflows using ABI 3730 Genetic Analyzer . Perform molecular biology techniques including: Nucleic acid isolation PCR / RT-PCR Gel electrophoresis DNA sequencing Fragment analysis Manage high-volume sample handling with accuracy and efficiency. Perform test implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of Sanger Sequencing processes.

Design primers and support sequencing experiment planning and execution. Operate and maintain high-throughput genetic analyzers such as ABI 3730 . Apply molecular biology knowledge in: Cloning Molecular identification of species Vector / plasmid systems Sequence alignment BLAST analysis Communicate effectively with laboratory teams and laboratory clients.

Work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision. Qualifications & Experience M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology or related discipline. 2–3 years of proven hands-on experience in Sanger Sequencing . Strong expertise in molecular biology laboratory techniques.

Experience in sequencing workflows, troubleshooting, primer design, and high-throughput analyzer handling. Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
