Job Description
Hourly Pay Range: $32.60 - $48.90 per hour. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights Position: Research Financial Analyst (onsite) Location: Evanston, IL Full Time: Monday-Friday Onsite, standard business hours Travel: other Endeavor Health locations as required (e.g., to attend meetings) What you will do Requisition and Expenditure Review: review all expenditures and FTE distributions on research accounts for PIs, Research Managers, Research Directors and other Clinical Research Unit (CRU) leadership to ensure compliance with award and proposal requirements, organizational, sponsor and federal policies; review and approve requisitions for project-related expenditure.
Report Preparation and Distribution: prepare summary reports of all project financial data in the assigned portfolio and present to CRU leads and PIs for review; educate, explain, and interpret financial information; process any adjustments as necessary. Corrections: identify and resolve problems and prepare appropriate and timely corrections of expenses that were posted incorrectly via journal entry or other mechanism. Critical Information Distribution: collaborate with PI and CRU team to complete relevant sponsored project tasks, including providing salary/fringe information for budget development, preparing progress report financial information, projecting surpluses or deficits at end of project period, preparing future spending plans in alignment with future award allotments, adjusting and managing research labor distribution for PIs and Study Team members.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including revenue and expense tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting/long‑term financial planning. Assist leadership with the preparation and delivery of reports/presentations; assist in financial audits and ensure compliance with federal regulations and sponsor policies; develop SOPs and workflows as indicated. What you will need Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant field of study.
Certification: NCURA or ACRP certification in Research Financials preferred. Experience: minimum of 2 years of experience in post‑award management/research finance for a healthcare organization, university, academic medical center or research institution. Preferred Skills: strong finance, accounting and reporting/analytics skills; strong skills in the use of database and spreadsheet applications; experience with Workday Finance or Workday Grants or other similar ERP application; knowledge of NIH Grants Policy Statements, OMB Circular A‑133, DHHS Policy, PCROI Policy; strong written and oral communication skills; Microsoft Office Suite of applications; online sponsor submission systems like NIH ASSIST, DOD eBrap, Grants.gov, etc.
