Research Analyst (Seattle)

Company and Role Description Himalaya Capital, a value investment fund management firm based in Seattle, Washington, is looking to hire a Research Analyst. The successful candidate would be a generalist and involved in all research areas within the firm. Applicants should have at least five years of equity research experience, extensive knowledge in value investing, and a credible track record in identifying investment opportunities.

This position requires flexibility to travel and work in Asia. Responsibilities Monitor daily news flows, company disclosures and reports, and major corporate events. Build financial models with Excel spreadsheets to analyze and track the financial performance of companies under watch.

Perform in-depth research on companies, industries and macroeconomics independently. Identify investment opportunities and make investment recommendations to the portfolio manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (preferably an MBA) in Finance, Business, Accounting or related fields.

At least five years of equity research experience, preferably in a value investment firm. Extensive knowledge in value investment. Advanced skill level in Excel and financial modeling.

Excellent capability with relevant work experience to conduct in-depth company research. Strong critical thinking, analytical, research, communication and writing skills. High level of intellectual honesty.
