Job Summary

As part of the interdisciplinary team, the RN is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient/family focused nursing care in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy, policies and standards of care, the College of Nurses (CNO) and all relevant legislation.

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Obstetrics

Location: Alliston

Job Type: Casual (0.25 FTE)

Salary: $41.15 - $58.98 per hour

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be a registered RN in good standing with the College of Nurses (CNO).
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support).
  • Must have completed or be committed to completing a Fetal Health Surveillance course within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must have completed or be committed to completing Hem NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must hold a Maternal-Newborn Nursing Certification or be committed to completing it within one (1) year of hire.
  • Completion of S.T.A.B.L.E. and ALARM courses is preferred.
  • Minimum two years of labour and delivery and post‑partum experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Initiation and maintenance of intravenous (parenteral) therapy.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, organization, problem‑solving, decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Self‑propulsion to work independently and as a member of an inter‑professional team in critical and fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong ability to facilitate patient‑ and family‑centered care and develop therapeutic relationships.
  • Understanding and adherence to patient and staff safety policies that foster a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients, families and staff.
  • Commitment to self‑development and the professional growth of colleagues.

Hours of Work

Our operations run 24/7. Expectation to work weekdays, weekends and all shifts (days, nights, 12 hours). This is a replacement position.
