Rotation/Shifts Days and evenings, including weekends, 8‑hour shifts.

Basic Requirements Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario; One (1) year (Full‑time equivalent) of recent Hemodialysis experience; Three (3) months recent experience in Peritoneal Dialysis; Demonstrates knowledge of principles of peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis; Demonstrates theoretical knowledge in Nephrology; Demonstrates ability to assess learning needs of patients, to plan and implement appropriate teaching; Demonstrates ability to prepare and present educational material; Demonstrates knowledge and ability to liaise with community agencies and with The Ottawa Hospital's inpatient/outpatient areas; Demonstrates knowledge and ability to provide patient supporting care and teaching in a community/home setting; Demonstrates interpersonal, problem‑solving, case management, independent practice and critical thinking skills; Able to apply the continuous quality improvement approach to ensure quality care; Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle; Demonstrates ability to efficiently and effectively transition skills and practice between Clinic/Unit and community settings; Proficiency in computer applications; Eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications A degree in nursing; Certificate in Nephrology Nursing; Previous experience in patient and/or adult education; Experience in NephroCare, Word and Excel; Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
