We are currently seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time, part-time, and on-call positions. Description Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)? Join our dedicated team of nurses at HeartShare Human Services of New York, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the health and quality of life for the individuals we serve.
We are currently seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time, part-time, and on-call positions. As An RN, You Will Provide specialized nursing care and support to individuals with IDD, promoting their independence and addressing their unique healthcare needs. Advocate for the healthcare needs and rights of individuals, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) in nursing tasks and supervise their performance. Oversee health services for individuals in residential settings and ensure coordination with medical and clinical teams. Maintain thorough documentation, including nursing assessments, post-ER visit follow-ups, and medication management.
Collaborate with medical specialists and clinical staff to deliver comprehensive care. Conduct medication inventory, certify AMAP staff, and ensure compliance with OPWDD health training requirements. Participate in program planning and attend nursing department meetings.
Respond to emergencies promptly and provide individualized nursing interventions. Qualifications Requirements: Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license and registration. At least one year of nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience working with individuals with IDD.
American Heart Association issued Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with a commitment to promoting the health and rights of individuals with IDD. Why Join Us?
