Overview NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included. This is a fixed term post of 12 months.

Salary is pro rata for part‑time positions. A live NMC UK pin is required to be considered for this post. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our busy Gynaecology Ward.

This environment cares for general, emergency, and oncology gynaecology patients. Responsibilities Provide care within the legal and ethical framework established by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and in line with national legislation, policy, guidelines and procedures. Work within the NHS GG&C Health & Safety Policy and guidelines and the relevant legislation.

Empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well‑being and future lifestyle by providing information to participate in decisions about their care. Promote and support innovation in clinical practice. Adhere to organisational infection control policies and procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.

Contribute to providing an appropriate learning environment in line with NES Quality Placement Standards. Contribute to the clinical appraisal of pre‑registration nurses. Demonstrate ongoing professional development.

Additional responsibilities may be described in the attached job description. Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience Registered nurse on the NMC register. Experience in caring for pre- and post-operative patients is desirable.

Collaborative work within a multidisciplinary team, including with medical staff and specialist teams such as Acute Pain Services. There are opportunities to gain experience in emergency gynaecology care. Skills in Syringe Drivers, Intrathecal Opioids, Venepuncture and Cannulation are desirable but not essential.

The role involves caring for patients requiring palliative and end‑of‑life care; training in palliative care will be supported and facilitated.
