Your Opportunity Strathmore is a thriving community located 35 minutes east of Calgary on the TransCanada and Strathmore District Health Services is a busy rural hospital that provides emergency care to over 23,000 patients annually. Strathmore Hospital provides a broad range of care to patients across the lifespan, utilizing an electronic tracking system, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for emergency patients. The ideal candidate must be able to work in collaboration with a multi‑disciplinary team, assess, coordinate, supervise, administer, and evaluate the provision of health services and health‑care resources.

Demonstration of current nursing knowledge, effective communication, and leadership skills are required. You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families in a diverse population, focusing on an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

You will accept responsibility for continuing competence through ongoing professional development, including participation in education, orientation, and continuous quality improvement activities. You will follow nursing standards and protocols as required. You are aware that the RN position requires physical demands including lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment frequently.

Description As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and wellbeing. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271. Additional Required Qualifications Current Emergency or Intensive Care Unit experience or two years of current med/surg/acute care experience.

Preferred Qualifications One year of Emergency Nurse experience. Triage Nurse experience. Rural Nurse experience.

Recent Critical Care experience. Charge Nurse experience. ACLS (ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).

CTAS. TNCC. PALS.

NRP. NVCI. ENPC.

Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate excellent assessment skills, organizational skills, patient care skills, and leadership skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
