What You'll Do * Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients * Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit needs * Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management * Safely administer medications according to UHS policies * Support effective resource utilization, including staffing, time, and supplies * Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies * Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council, and improvement initiatives * Contribute to peer review, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement * Provide support and guidance to new employees and students * Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator responsibilities when assigned * Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training * Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as your expertise grows What We're Looking For * A compassionate, empathetic RN who values exceptional patient-centered care * An open-minded, eager-to-learn nurse who thrives in a high-acuity CVICU environment * A strong team player who values communication, collaboration, and shared success * A professional who upholds the New York State Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and UHS standards * A flexible, accountable RN committed to excellence and continuous growth Education & Experience Minimum Required: * Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Preferred: * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) * Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting Licensure & Certifications Minimum Required: * Current New York State Registered Nurse License Preferred: * CCRN certification * Additional skills certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) Work Environment * Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated. * Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting. * Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. * Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. * PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
