The Team
Join our Medical Imaging team as a Registered Nurse. Based at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania’s only Level 6 medical imaging service, you will support patients and their families through diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
As the State’s major clinical teaching and research hospital, the Royal Hobart Hospital collaborates closely with the University of Tasmania and other leading institutions to advance healthcare outcomes for the Tasmanian community. Multiple permanent full‑time and part‑time opportunities are available.
The Role
- The registered nurse in the Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) will work across diagnostic and interventional procedures in CT, PET, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and Angiography for inpatients and outpatients.
- The registered nurse strengthens health outcomes through safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients, families and health professionals.
What you’ll do
- In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, provide care to patients undergoing medical imaging procedures across multiple modalities.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a strong team approach through open communication and a supportive approach.
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support for emergency interventional procedures.
You will need
- Knowledge of and ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices for patient care in diagnostic and interventional procedures, in line with legal and local policy requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of radiation safety standards and ability to wear a lead apron.
Details of appointment
Multiple permanent full‑time and part‑time shift work positions (fully rotational), working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with successful applicant.
Salary range $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution on top.

Eligibility
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
