Overview

As Regional Director in Commercial Clients, you will shape and execute the regional strategy in London, leading a team of Relationship Directors and Managers to grow high-quality business. You’ll manage key client relationships, drive sustainable income within risk parameters, and elevate credit quality and client service. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on relationship management across high-profile clients and introducers.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver the regional Commercial strategy.
  • Drive sustainable income within Group risk principles.
  • Manage relationships with high-profile clients and key introducers.
  • Improve credit submissions through coaching and team development.
  • Lead relationships with existing and new customers to deepen engagement.
  • Embed a customer service culture and satisfaction strategies in the region.
  • Enhance the regional market profile of CCB through client and market engagement.
  • Recruit, lead and develop teams of Relationship Directors and Relationship Managers.
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in Corporate and Commercial Banking across target sectors.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills up to Executive level.
  • Significant leadership experience managing teams in a relationship management environment.
  • Experience in lending to companies and driving credit analysis for deals (advanced risk skills).
  • Degree-level education in a relevant field; professional banking/finance qualifications preferred.
  • Advanced credit and risk analysis training or certification preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development aligned with risk and regulatory standards.
  • Advanced credit and financial analysis capabilities; ability to structure lending and assess risk.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication capabilities.
  • Leadership and coaching ability to develop others.
  • Resilient and optimistic mindset with adaptability.
  • Salesforce, nCino, Office 365 proficiency.
