Job Description
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Site: Shared Health - Health Sciences Centre Department / Unit: Equipment Planning Implement & Lifecycle Job Stream: Clinical Support Union: CUPE Anticipated Start Date: 08/10/2026 FTE: 1.00 Anticipated Shift: Days Work Arrangement: Hybrid Daily Hours Worked: 7.75 Annual Base Hours: 2015 Experience One year directly related experience in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering required.
Familiarity with various computer systems (particularly personal computers) and software packages essential. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Post-secondary degree in clinical engineering, biomedical engineering or equivalent from an accredited educational institution is required. Master’s degree in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering or equivalent is required.
Special Training A recognized credit course in Project Management within 2 years of incumbency, if not previously obtained. A course in management/supervisory skills within 3 years of incumbency, if not previously obtained. Certification/Licensure/Registration Must be registered, and maintain registration at all times, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
If not immediately registered as a Professional Engineer upon on application, the incumbent must obtain the designation of Professional Engineer within 1 year of meeting all eligibility requirements of the Association. Active and in good-standing membership in at least one of the following organizations is required within 1 year of incumbency, at the incumbent’s expense: the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE) the Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society (CMBES) the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Clinical Engineering certification from the International Certification Commission or equivalent within one year of meeting all eligibility requirements of the Commission. Qualifications and Skills Highly self-motivated with strong ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Excellent management skills: financial, operational and human resource. Excellent ability to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams. Good abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to maintain professional manner under a variety of working circumstances.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient in PC use and office productivity software application such as word processor, spreadsheet, database and presentation. Able to work under pressure and make decisions using sound judgement.
Physical Requirements Not Applicable This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
