Position Overview My client seeks an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to work across the East Midlands. The role involves servicing and maintaining heavy commercial and industrial refrigeration systems (CO₂, Freon, chilled water) with experience in ammonia advantageous but not essential. Responsibilities • Ensure refrigeration systems are serviced and maintained correctly. • Work closely with the service admin team, service supervisors and senior engineers to meet client specifications and standards. • Guarantee systems operate at optimum condition and comply with site operating requirements and safe systems of work.
Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years relevant experience with large commercial or industrial refrigeration. Relevant qualifications: City & Guilds Refrigerant Handling 2079, CO₂ (Ammonia experience advantageous). Proven experience in a senior role, excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong understanding of electrical controls and refrigeration principles. Knowledge of COSHH, health and safety guidelines, and CSCS approval. Valid full driving licence and ability to work unsupervised.
Capability to operate a mobile elevated working platform. Benefits Salary £50k-£55k (DOE). On-call 1 week in 4 with a standby fee of £225.00 per week. 40‑hour week – 8am to 4:30pm, 25 days + 8 bank holidays.
