Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Rail Systems team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Foster collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary leader and point of contact for the Rail Systems team.
  • Support project delivery by identifying and resolving technical, operational, and coordination challenges.
  • Facilitate communication and integration between different technical groups and project teams.
  • Promote the application of Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance best practices throughout project execution.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, candidate evaluation, and team development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, project requirements, and organizational processes.
  • Participate in technical reviews, project planning activities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support project managers and technical leaders in achieving project objectives.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of team capabilities, methodologies, and tools.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Railway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master\'s degree or postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering, Rail Systems, Transportation Engineering, Project Management, or a related field will be considered an asset.
  • Professional certifications related to Systems Engineering, INCOSE, Systems Assurance, Functional Safety, or Project Management are highly desirable.

Experience

  • 6 to 9 years of professional experience in Rail Systems, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, Systems Assurance, or similar technical environments.
  • Experience leading technical teams, coordinating multidisciplinary groups, or supervising engineering activities.
  • Experience supporting transportation infrastructure or railway projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience facilitating technical discussions and managing complex technical interfaces.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering methodologies and Systems Assurance practices.
  • Understanding of the V-Model, including both verification and validation processes.
  • Experience in requirements management, requirements decomposition, and application of SMART and ATOMIC principles.
  • Knowledge of international railway and engineering standards such as CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, AREMA, IEEE, Military Standards, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Safety Assurance processes and development of Safety Case documentation.
  • Familiarity with INCOSE principles and Systems Engineering best practices.
  • Knowledge of RAM principles (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability).
  • Broad understanding of multidisciplinary engineering environments and systems integration concepts.
  • Ability to understand, review, and coordinate technical deliverables from various engineering disciplines.
  • Results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and global environments.

Languages

  • Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher), both written and spoken, is required.

Key Profile

  • The candidate is not required to be a subject matter expert in every Rail Systems discipline. However, as the Team Lead, the individual must possess sufficient technical knowledge and leadership capabilities to:
  • Provide technical direction and support when required.
  • Address and resolve team and project-related challenges.
  • Facilitate collaboration and interaction across multidisciplinary groups
