Radiology Registered Nurse Part-Time

Job Description Radiology Registered Nurse - Part-Time (260000GV) provides sedation and patient care services for a range of ages from infants to adults. Responsibilities include pre‑sedation, sedation, monitoring, and post‑sedation care, managing peripheral and central line access, contrast administration, urinary catheterization, triaging phone consults, and educating patients and families. The nurse collaborates with anesthesiologists, radiologists, and the radiology team to facilitate patient flow during scheduled exams or procedures, and leads patient safety and emergency equipment checks.

Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Required) BSN (Preferred) Minimum Work Experience: 1 year in ICU, ED, or an area with sedation activities (Required) Required Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia (Required) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Required) Functional Accountabilities Transformational Leadership Contribute to Magnet re‑designation through committees, task forces, and community outreach. Role model critical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication to advocate patient needs. Lead escalation of issues and follow chain of command.

Demonstrate proper hand‑off processes and maintain colleague relationships. Support change management and empathetic behavior toward patients and staff. Independently lead patient care sedation activities to ensure safety.

Structural Empowerment Maintain regulatory requirements and advocate for professional nursing practice. Engage in peer evaluations and promote national safety standards. Coordinate team involvement and serve as a resource for escalation.
