Job Description Quality Engineer Position ID - IHC490 Position Summary: Marriott International is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to champion quality excellence across its global digital ecosystemincluding Marriott Bonvoy, reservations, mobile and web guest experiences, payment platforms, and AI-driven personalization and fraud prevention services.
In this role, you will lead automation-first and AI-enabled quality engineering practices to deliver secure, reliable, and seamless guest experiences at scale. Youll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Operations teams to ensure end-to-end quality. The position emphasizes validating both front-end browser interactions and API integrations within Marriotts web and App ecosystem.
You will collaborate with cross-functional digital teams to deliver high-quality releases using tools and technologies such as Appium, Selenium, Playwright, BrowserStack, REST, GraphQL, and modern CI/CD pipelines. Job Specific Tasks: Contribute to defining and executing testing strategies across functional, non-functional, and regression testing. Assist in applying AI-augmented testing techniques such as test case generation, flaky test identification, and risk-based prioritization.
Support validation of AI/ML systems focusing on accuracy, basic fairness checks, and performance monitoring. Participate in testing LLM-powered features for data privacy, safety, and response quality. Create and maintain test cases based on requirements, user stories, and user journeys.
Identify flaky tests and support efforts to stabilize test suites. Generate and manage test data, including basic synthetic data where required. Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, or Playwright.
Integrate and execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines with guidance. Contribute to building and maintaining automation frameworks for web, mobile, and APIs. Ensure test scripts are reusable, maintainable, and aligned with project standards.
Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and improve test coverage. Participate in defect tracking, debugging, and basic root cause analysis. Perform functional, UI, API, and cross-browser testing across platforms.
Assist in implementing accessibility checks and visual validation testing. Support regression testing efforts to reduce manual testing effort. Follow QA processes within SDLC and Agile environments.
Work with tools like Jira, Confluence, and test management tools (e.g., Zephyr). Use debugging and mobile testing tools such as Charles Proxy, Android Studio, Xcode (basic level). Continuously learn and apply new tools, including AI-assisted development tools like Copilot or Cursor.
Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of industry experience in test automation focusing on APP and web applications . Hands on expertise in Automation testing with either of the skill: Appium. Selenium WebDriver.
Playwright. BrowserStack or equivalent cloud testing platforms. Good to have skills: REST API testing (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).
GraphQL API testing , Apollo Studio. Cursor. Strong programming skills in Java , JavaScript/TypeScript , or Python .
Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines . Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Core Work Activities: Managing Work, Projects, and Policies: Assist in developing and executing test strategies, test plans, and regression suites aligned with business requirements and user stories. Log, track, and validate defects while collaborating with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure timely resolution. Support accessibility testing efforts to ensure digital products meet basic accessibility standards and improve usability for all users.
Contribute to digital product sprints, release validation, and coordination with platform and service layer teams. Document testing progress, track key QA metrics, and share insights to help improve testing processes and product quality. Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and provide inputs on testing status and improvements.
Collaboration & Communication: Communicate testing progress, risks, and blockers clearly with team members and stakeholders. Support knowledge sharing within the QA team and assist in onboarding or helping new team members when needed. Participate in cross-functional discussions and contribute ideas for improving testing practices and workflows.
Supporting Operations: Assist in testing efforts across different product features or channels as required. Follow established QA processes and contribute to improving workflows for better efficiency. Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation and reports.
