Job Description

The Prospect Research Analyst is an essential member of the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation’s team, supporting the Foundation’s philanthropic efforts by identifying, analyzing, and qualifying prospective donors. Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics and Prospect Research, the analyst will collaborate with the Manager and frontline fundraisers to meet the evolving informational needs for the Foundation’s donor cultivation and solicitation strategies. The Prospect Research Analyst is a trusted resource for the Foundation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and strategic insight in all aspects, directly contributing to the success of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities: Conduct detailed research and prepare high-quality profiles on individuals and family foundations. Identify and financially qualify new and existing donors and prospects for major gift qualification, cultivation, and solicitation. Utilize multiple data sources to assess wealth and philanthropic inclination.

Partner with frontline fundraising staff to develop and track solicitation strategies. Maintain prospect data in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT and leverage reporting tools for insights. Help develop screening strategies to identify newly qualified donor prospects using wealth screening tools in collaboration with the Manager of Data Analytics and Prospect Research.

Stay current on industry trends and emerging tools to strengthen research efforts. Minimum Qualifications: A college degree or experience in advancement work is preferred Minimum of one year experience in a research-intensive professional role Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion and adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines for both the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ability to convey information orally and in writing Precise attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Experience managing multiple and diverse deadline-driven tasks General knowledge and competency of Microsoft Office programs, including the ability to manage and manipulate data in Microsoft Excel.
