Position Summary You will lead delivery of capital and operational projects that improve safety, quality, and reliability across a GSK site in the United States. You will work closely with site leaders, engineering, operations, procurement and external partners to move projects from concept to handover. Responsibilities Coordinating the submission of Building Control and Planning applications. Coordinating procurement plan preparation and submission to GSK.
Preparation / update of Health and Safety File. Issuing and receiving permits. Coordinating change control.
Coordinating and leading site surveys by sub-contractors. Leading and coordinating stage gate reviews. Coordinating constructability reviews.
Coordinating FATs and attendance by team members. Responsible for the safe delivery of projects to budget and schedule. Ensure good communication between engineering disciplines.
Maintain effective dialogue with other project engineers. Ensure an effective risk management process is adopted. Ensure adherence to HSE requirements within sphere of influence.
Effective coordination of all elements of the project, with a hands‑on, can‑do attitude where necessary. Good stakeholder management and client interfacing during pre‑construction, construction, commissioning and validation. Development of relationships with internal and external customers and organizations.
Responsible for ensuring delivery of scopes in line with department KPIs, as far as the PE can influence. Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS and Quality procedures. Implementing and maintaining safety measures, including carrying out risk assessments and ensuring all construction and demolition works are carried out under an approved safe system of works.
Managing resources effectively, including securing site‑based resources and coordinating with production for downtime requirements. Basic Qualification Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related technical discipline. 10+ years managing multi‑discipline projects in a highly regulated industry. Experience with the site QMS and Regulatory Requirements (Safety and Quality) relative to the defined process.
Experience in change management methodology and advocate of Lean Sigma principles. Experience with historical, current, and anticipated manufacturing plant and equipment. Preferred Qualification Master’s degree or professional certification such as PMP or Prince2.
Broad knowledge of professional engineering environment, associated disciplines, and commercial awareness. Familiarity with automation, utilities or process engineering projects. Experience with project tools such as MS Project, Primavera or SAP.
