The Project Manager Engineering’s role is to deliver a best‑in‑class product that exceeds customer expectations.
You will be responsible for the design and development of components and new products to meet customer and market needs. Principal Responsibilities Responsible for the design of new products and/or special projects Responsible for project planning including estimating and managing resources and completion dates. Informs stakeholders of project cost, project status, and progress toward key deliverables.
Develops special designs to meet specifications and customer requirements and provides the essential supporting documentation. Checks and releases completed work assigned to Engineers Prepares Bills of Material (BOM) and provides purchasing department with specifications for ordering raw materials and components required for fabrication and assembly. Interfaces with production during product build to ensure product compliance with design formation and delivery requirements.
Trains and develops engineers. Develops technical and managerial competence of direct reports. Must have the ability to prioritize/re‑prioritize tasks, carry out root cause analysis, and deal with scheduling conflicts.
Personal Characteristics Bold and open‑minded Challenges the status quo An energetic self‑starter, highly motivated, strong negotiation skills Education & Experience Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Masters degree will be advantageous. Minimum of 7 years of work experience – strong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and processes.
Application knowledge of mobile drilling equipment or similar off‑highway vehicles. Experience with structural design, hydraulics, low voltage (12V/24V), systems and controls, powertrain, cooling systems/thermodynamics. Familiarity with manufacturing of heavy equipment such as mining, construction, or agriculture products.
Excellent technical problem‑solving skills – review and validate technical calculations and analysis. Working knowledge in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (Siemens Teamcenter or similar). Experience with PTC Creo Parametric or equivalent 3D CAD software.
Able to generate creative solutions to problems and work in a fast‑paced environment that requires multi‑tasking. Must have the ability to prioritize/re‑prioritize tasks, carry out root cause analysis, and deal with scheduling conflicts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to compile and present technical data clearly and concisely.
