Job Description AECOM is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead projects and act as the Client Account Manager in support of work done for a Client in the Ottawa Valley. The position will be local to the Ottawa Valley. This is a newly created position.
Responsibilities Be AECOM’s primary point of contact with the client. Act as the client’s leading advocate within AECOM and AECOM’s leading advocate with the client. Set the strategic direction for AECOM with the client, setting the plan and overseeing its execution.
Be seen as a leader who brings together all aspects of AECOM in meeting the client’s needs. Be the focal point for introducing innovations and market intelligence to the client. Talk to the client regularly about their wider business outside of any project delivery or pursuit engagement.
Bring the client’s ‘voice’ to internal teams leading pursuits and capture. Leverage client relationship to assist delivery teams in resolution of anticipated or actual issues. Facilitate the project proposal per the AECOM proposal process to ensure detailed schedules (WBS), costs, and proposal write‑ups are produced as part of a high‑quality, competitive proposal package submitted to the Client.
Upon receipt of an approved Purchase Order, manage successful delivery of project scope per Purchase Order including Ts & Cs and the specific Scope of Work documentation. Develop and manage Project Plans in collaboration with the project team. Ensure staff are trained, competent and qualified to perform project-related tasks.
Execute project deliverables in accordance with Project Plans, ensuring health & safety, quality, cost and schedule adherence. Interface with the Client to ensure all client goals are defined, understood and achieved to the Client’s satisfaction. Effectively communicate with the Client and the ACNS Project Team on a routine and ongoing basis.
Identify, mitigate and address risks via AECOM Risk Management process, manage all mitigating actions to ensure deliverables are met. Ensure all AECOM Project Management requirements are met throughout the project per AECOM Project management systems. Ensure all Project Deliverables submitted to the Client are completed per due process and meet quality requirements within the Client SOW and ACNS Project Plans.
Monitor and report to the Client and ACNS Management on all project aspects: schedule, cost, quality, Health & Safety, risk and issues on a routine basis. Carry out effective Project Change Management throughout project execution. Ensure all Project Accruals and Invoices are produced and submitted to the Client monthly or as agreed within the Contract Ts & Cs.
Ensure all Sub‑Contractor Management activities are completed, including receiving and paying Sub‑Contractor invoices and oversight of Sub‑Contractor activities. Effectively complete all project close‑out actions: final documentation, final project report and final invoicing and payments. Carry out a Lessons Learned session to identify and incorporate lessons learned, including improvement opportunities as part of continuous learning.
Obtain Client feedback. Qualifications Minimum requirements: University degree related to Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 8+ years of related experience. Preferred qualifications: Nuclear industry experience in Project Management over a minimum of 10 years.
Nuclear experience in Engineering or Operations over a minimum of 10 years. Good understanding of Project Management processes and procedures and their application. Good understanding of Nuclear QA (N286 and N299) processes and requirements. 4‑year University degree, with Engineering desirable.
PMP or other relevant PM qualifications or designation, an asset. Compensation A CAD 185,000 to CAD 220,000 yearly, based on education, qualifications, experience and work location.
