ClosingDate: 23.59 hours BST on Thursday 25 June 2026 InterviewDate: Thursday 09 July 2026 Reference: 0772-26 ReleaseDate: Friday 22 May 2026 We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Programme Manager to support the delivery of the flagshipSmartCharprogramme, a five-year, EPSRC funded research programme focused on developing self-sensing, low-carbon concrete infrastructure through the integration ofbiochar materials, advanced fibre optic sensing, and digital technologies. SmartChar brings togetherthree leading universities and a wide network of industrial partnersto deliver a highly integrated programme spanningmaterials innovation, digital sensing, structural performance, and sustainability systems. The Programme Manager will play a central role in ensuring theeffective coordination, governance, and deliveryof the programme.
Working closely with the Principal Investigator and work package leads, the postholder will oversee programme operations, manage interdependencies, support stakeholder engagement, and ensure that activities remain aligned with strategic objectives, timelines, and impact goals. This is a pivotal role requiring a combination ofproject management expertise, stakeholder engagement, and strategic oversight, supporting both day-to-day delivery and long-term programme impact.
