Position Summary
Aspen Earthworks is seeking a Project Engineer to support project execution across civil
construction and site development projects, while developing into a future Project
Manager.
This is a high-growth, hands-on role responsible for supporting coordination,
documentation, tracking, and field alignment.
The Project Engineer works closely with project managers, superintendents, and field
teams and plays a key role in keeping projects organized, informed, and moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Support
β’ Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution
β’ Assist with planning, coordination, and tracking of project activities
β’ Help align field operations with project schedule and priorities
β’ Follow up on outstanding items to keep work progressing
Document Control & Communication
β’ Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
β’ Track and distribute updated plans, specifications, and revisions
β’ Maintain organized project files and communication logs
β’ Ensure field teams have the most current information
Field Support & Alignment
β’ Work closely with superintendents and field crews to support execution
β’ Visit jobsites regularly to stay connected to field operations
β’ Assist with layout coordination, quantities, and problem-solving
β’ Help bridge communication between field and office
Tracking & Reporting
β’ Track installed quantities, production, and project progress
β’ Assist with daily reports, cost tracking, and forecasting support
β’ Identify potential issues early and communicate with the team
β’ Support job cost tracking and project performance visibility
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
β’ Assist with subcontractor coordination and follow-up
β’ Track material deliveries, lead times, and procurement status
β’ Help ensure subcontractors are aligned with project requirements
Quality & Compliance Support
β’ Assist with inspection coordination and documentation
β’ Support quality control processes and ensure work aligns with plans and specs
β’ Help maintain compliance with project and regulatory requirements

Qualifications
β’ 1β3 years of experience in construction or related field
β’ Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
β’ Strong organizational and communication skills
β’ Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications (or willingness to learn quickly)
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a plus
β’ Strong work ethic and desire to grow into a Project Manager role
β’ Ability to operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Internship or field experience in civil construction or site development
β’ Exposure to RFIs, submittals, or project documentation processes
β’ Familiarity with software such as Procore, HCSS, or similar
β’ Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Work Environment
β’ Combination of office and active construction site work
β’ Regular site visits required
β’ Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
