Project Engineer – Telecommunications

Position Purpose

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of national telecommunications infrastructure projects. The role will work closely with Project Managers, Design, Construction, Field Supervisors, and customers to coordinate project activities, manage schedules, track risks, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end delivery of telecommunications projects.
• Coordinate with design, construction, transmission, and integration teams.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Track dependencies and proactively resolve project issues.
• Manage project documentation, governance, and reporting.
• Liaise with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate permits, access, outages, and approvals.
• Monitor budgets, purchase orders, and contractor progress.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and customer requirements.
• Escalate risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports.
• Support project close-out, acceptance, and financial completion.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical, Civil, or similar).
• 5+ years of project engineering or project coordination experience.
• Experience in telecommunications or infrastructure projects.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of mobile network deployment (5G/4G), transmission, or fibre.
• Experience working with contractors and field teams.
• Understanding of HSE and quality management processes.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
