The Project Engineer position is a key role within the engineering team. This role is critical to the success of the department as it develops and builds relationships with customers and internal colleagues alike. The trust gained in this position is invaluable to the department's progress and smooth running.
The role requires effective communication skills not only with customers but with colleagues across multiple departments, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to coordination and planning.
\nThe Project Engineer will provide technical support and field assistance to Structure Works installation and service engineers, ensuring projects are being installed correctly, to company standards and to the highest industry standards possible.
\nIt is the responsibility of the Project Engineer to commission, test and handover projects to the client and client's representatives, encompassing all steps from the beginning of the project to the successful completion. All relevant quality assurance steps for compliance and standards will be audited by the Project Engineer, and where required directed to the relevant person to correct.
\nThe Project Engineer will provide technical support and assistance to the Design and Sales team ensuring all new projects, tenders and pricing submissions are compliant with company standards, industry standards and will meet client expectations.
\nThe Project Engineer may also provide technical and IT assistance with the company internal systems, (IT, Security, Intruder, CCTV) and servers when necessary.
\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate, Commission, Test & Troubleshoot projects throughout Germany (some overseas projects). \n
- Manage all server deployments and all programming activities. \n
- Inspects cable installation, device installation, head-end build out, system final termination, programming, and testing of systems. \n
- Take responsibility for adherence to SWI technical standards on all projects. \n
- Communicate with PM and internal staff regarding engineering tasks and follow up action items. \n
- Contribute to the technical design/design assurance and delivery of new complex, global projects. \n
- Provide Technical / Operational support to SWI teams when required. \n
- Build and maintain technical relationships with suppliers/partners. \n
- Ensure all projects that are delivered have undergone a detailed technical review and a validated Commissioning process. \n
- Work with colleagues in the technical team/engineering personnel in country, and provide support to colleagues within the EMEA region as the technical department grows. \n
- Service and maintenance support – assisting field engineers, LSPs and clients resolving technical problems, commissioning/programming. Providing remote support to customers, colleagues, and subcontractors. \n
- Adhere to existing processes for commissioning, QA/QC & project sign off. \n
- Travel to sites to meet clients and build relationships. \n
- Manage, supervise, and organize existing junior Engineers; mentor, train and develop their skillset. \n
- Hands on commission projects. \n
- Engage in open service cases and assist in resolving technical problems when requested by the service team. \n
- Correct completion of the paperwork and/or handover documentation, submitted timely for jobs/tasks undertaken, in order that company records are maintained accurately. \n
- Co-ordinating with the clients IT, Security, Health & Safety and facility management teams, to ensure a high level of client cooperation. \n
- Other reasonable duties maybe requested or assigned. \n
Work Environment
\nFrom time to time the Project Engineer will perform some duties from our Frankfurt office (programming scripts / prebuild of equipment / preconfigure and test of equipment). Most of the working time will be on site at customers' premises. Working locations vary from domestic and commercial premises to construction sites.
There will be occasions when there is a requirement to work away from home, either in Germany or overseas.
